“Ukrainian Diplomacy: Formation, Development, Prospects”

On April 10, the National University of Bioresources and Environmental Management of Ukraine (Kyiv) hosted the International Scientific and Practical Conference “Ukrainian Diplomacy: Formation, Development, Prospects”.

The event was attended by Yevhenia Shevtsova, an assistant professor at the Department of History and Archaeology, who presented the results of her international internship.

The conference brought together over 200 participants from all over Ukraine and seven countries around the world, including scientists, diplomats, representatives of academic institutions and public organizations. In her report, Yevhenia Shevtsova shared her internship experience, focusing on new approaches to teaching history and archaeology, as well as the importance of international cooperation in the field of humanities. Her report aroused lively interest among the conference participants and contributed to the development of academic dialogue on the role of historical disciplines in the formation of modern diplomacy.

History as a science plays a key role in the formation of national identity and cultural self-awareness, which is the basis of effective cultural diplomacy. Professional training of historians provides not only a deep understanding of the past, but also the ability to reasonably present historical truth in the international arena, counteract disinformation and form a positive image of the state. In modern conditions, when information wars and propaganda increasingly use historical manipulation as a tool of influence, historians act as important actors in the protection of cultural sovereignty.

Participation in the conference was for Evhenia Shevtsova not only an opportunity to present the results of her professional growth, but also contributed to expanding prospects for further research in the field of the role of history in cultural diplomacy.
