Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University team participates in the Academic Managers Professional Development Program.

From April 9 to 12, 2025, the Academic Managers Professional Development Program was launched at Mariupol State University – a unique initiative of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, implemented by the British Council within the framework of the joint project of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and the World Bank “Improving Higher Education in Ukraine for Results”.

The program was introduced to strengthen the institutional capacity of higher education institutions in Ukraine by developing the competencies of academic managers in the areas of higher education transformation, good governance, strategic and financial management, human resources management, internationalization and implementation of institutional changes. It will last for five months – until September 17, 2025.

Within the first module “The Role of the University in the Context of Social Transformations”, the program participants had the opportunity to understand modern challenges in the field of higher education, in particular:

-the role of the EHEA (European Higher Education Area);
-university and academic autonomy;
-leadership and governance in HEIs;
-individual learning trajectories;
-development of dual education;
-interaction with various stakeholders;
-the role of the university as a space of public service.
