On April 9, a guest online lecture on the topic “Development of Culturally Sensitive Programs for the Elderly” was held, which was held by Shorena Sadzaglishvili, Doctor of Sciences, Professor at Ilia State University (Tbilisi, Georgia).

The event was organized by the Social Pedagogy Department and the Social Work Department of LTSNU with the aim of familiarizing students with modern programs of social support for the elderly; forming an understanding of the importance of a culturally sensitive approach in social work with the elderly; engaging in a discussion of world experience in the context of Ukrainian realities.

The event was attended by students of the first (bachelor’s) and second (master’s) levels of higher education, postgraduate students majoring in “Social Work”, as well as teachers of the departments of social pedagogy and social work.

The working language of the lecture was English, which provided the participants with an additional opportunity to improve their own professional terminology and communication skills.

The lecture aroused lively interest and became a platform for a meaningful dialogue on the importance of the cultural context in working with the elderly.

We sincerely thank Professor Shorena Sadzaglishvili for her professional and inspiring speech!
