She emphasized that the parks of the Poltava region are an important element of the cultural and natural heritage of Ukraine, which reflect the influence of various factors: natural, economic, social and political.

Ms. Liudmyla spoke about the four main periods of the formation of park cultures and phytocenoses, starting from the 18th century, when parks were created in a landscape style, and up to the present day, when they have become important objects of the nature reserve network. Special attention was paid to the current state of the parks of the Poltava region, which are protected in the nature reserve network of the region. Ms. Lyudmila emphasized the importance of preserving historical parks, such as Berezovorudsky, Khomutetsky, Poltava City Park “Peremoga”, Ustimov Arboretum and others, which have great scientific, historical and cultural value. Ms. Liudmyla also emphasized the importance of preserving biodiversity in parks, which includes not only the diversity of plants, but also historical landscapes that form a unique ecological and cultural heritage.

The participants actively asked questions, in particular about methods of preserving historical parks, the use of new technologies in landscaping and the possibility of involving local communities in the care of parks. The lecture drew attention to the further study of park cultures and phytocenoses and their consideration as an important element of the natural and cultural heritage of Ukraine.
