Meeting of the Scientific Club “Ecological Club”
12.3.2025
A meeting of the scientific club “Ecological Club” was held, dedicated to the analysis of German experience in the field of household waste management and the possibilities of its implementation in Ukraine.
The Department of Landscape Gardening and Ecology held a meeting of the scientific club “Ecological Club”, which was attended by students of all specialties of the ER INAS. Yevheniia MOLODKINA, a master’s student majoring in “Ecology”, a member of the student government of the ER INAS and a member of the Council of Young Scientists and Students of the university presented a report on the topic “Management of household waste in Germany: experience for Ukraine”.
Yevheniia described the key aspects of the waste management system in Germany, in particular the legislative framework, the principles of sorting and recycling of household waste, as well as innovative approaches to their disposal. The speaker examined in detail different types of containers for sorting (yellow, green, brown, black and containers for glass), as well as the container return system (Pfand), which stimulates the population to collect and recycle plastic and aluminum bottles. Ms. Yevheniia emphasized that Germany has achieved significant success in the field of waste recycling: more than 65% of household waste is recycled, and less than 1% ends up in landfills.
The report aroused great interest among students, who noted that the topic of waste sorting and recycling causes heated discussions about its efficiency, accessibility and prospects, especially in the conditions of Ukraine.
Waste sorting is not just a trend, but an important step towards preserving our environment for future generations. We wish our students to be active participants in this process and implement environmental habits in their everyday lives. May your example inspire others, and each sorted bag or bottle will become a small but important contribution to the great cause of nature protection. We wish you to be creative in finding new ways to reduce waste, energetic in promoting ideas of sustainable development and persistent in achieving environmental goals. Let your knowledge of waste sorting and recycling become a solid foundation for environmental awareness, and your actions an example for others. Together we can make our world cleaner, safer and more sustainable! Sort your waste – save the planet!
