LTSNU Honored the Memory of Taras Shevchenko

Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University, which proudly bears the name of the national genius, joined the events dedicated to the 211th anniversary of the birth of the Great Kobzar.

On March 9, 2025, the head of the Primary Trade Union Organization, teachers, students and employees of LTSNU took part in the ceremonial events in the T. G. Shevchenko Square in Lubny. The event was also attended by community leaders, deputies of the Lubny City Council, representatives of the creative intelligentsia, and the public.

211 years have passed since the birth of the Great Kobzar, but his word remains alive and relevant. Shevchenko is not only what is studied, but also what they live by, from which they draw strength and hope. His work is a spiritual guide, his testaments still inspire Ukrainians to fight for independence today.

After the ceremonies and a minute of silence in honor of the memory of Taras Shevchenko, those present laid flowers at his monument, and students of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University set up a basket with yellow and blue flowers – the symbolic colors of our state.

Shevchenko was and remains a symbol of the struggle for the freedom of Ukraine. And today, when the Russian aggressor is again trying to destroy our state, his words give strength to Ukrainians. As over two centuries ago, his lines sound like a prophecy about the future of Ukraine after the victory:

Glory to Taras Shevchenko! Glory to Ukraine! Glory to the Heroes of Ukraine!
