Presentation of the Second Edition of “Essays on the History of Luhansk Region”

Today, February 28, 2025, a solemn presentation of the second edition of the book “Essays on the History of Luhansk Region” took place in the conference hall of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University.
The event brought together the university management, the authors of the book, vice-rectors, teachers, LTSNU employees, as well as invited representatives of the government, education, creative intelligentsia of the Lubny community and the media.
The presented work contains the results of many years of local history research conducted by the university’s scientists. Taking into account the forced evacuation of the Taras Shevchenko LNU to Starobilsk, the emphasis is on the history of this region, which is an important component of the cultural and historical heritage of the Luhansk region.
The authors of the publication:
- Vitalii Kurylo – Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor, Candidate of Historical Sciences, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, author of over 200 scientific works;
- Viktor Voronin – Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor, Historian, Diplomat, author of over 100 scientific works;
- Oleksandr Naboka – Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor, Local History Historian, Public figure, author of over 100 scientific works;
- Olha Drobysheva – Candidate of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor, Local History Historian, Teacher, author of over 40 scientific works.
The updated edition includes new and revised essays on the history of Luhansk Region, written by the authors using a wide range of historical sources. The book is intended for everyone who is interested in the history, present and future of Luhansk Region.
The Rector of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University Olena Karaman sincerely thanked the authors for their enormous contribution to science and the preservation of historical heritage not only for the university, but also for all of Ukraine.
“Luhansk Region is a land that is truly Ukrainian!” – emphasized the author of the book Vitalii Kurylo, emphasizing the importance of further local history work, which will be continued by scientists of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University.
The presentation was another step in preserving the historical memory and popularizing scientific research in Luhansk Region.
