Final Certification at the Journalism Department

During January 14-16, the Journalism Department held defenses of qualification theses of master’s students majoring in 061 “Journalism”.

The following delivered welcoming remarks: the head of the examination commission Volodymyr Tarasyuk, Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Journalism of Uzhgorod National University; Iryna Myhovych, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor, Head of the Department of International Relations, Director of the Institute of International Education, and members of the commission: Artem Halych, Doctor of Philological Sciences, Professor, Head of the Department of Journalism and Olena Kravchenko, Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Journalism.

A feature of this year’s certification was the brilliant defense of qualification theses of master’s students from the People’s Republic of China by Qian Tangjiang, Zheng Yuting and Zhao Ziyu.

According to the results of the defense, the following studies were recognized as the best:

• Oksana Markarova’s “Journalistic Creativity of Oleksandr Bilokobylsky: Genre-Style Dominants”;
• Anna Gavrylova’s “Features of Gamification in Ukrainian Online Media”;
• Iryna Kedrina’s “Constructive Journalism as a Means of Solving Social Problems in Ukraine During the Russian-Ukrainian War (using the Example of the Media “#ShoTam”)”;
• Zhen Yuting’s “Modern Visual Communication: Development of 3D Animation and Digital Trends”.

The Chairman of the Commission, Volodymyr Tarasyuk, familiarized the audience with reviews and responses to each scientific work.

After the presentation of the master’s thesis, the members of the examination commission asked questions to each higher education applicant to determine their competence. All master’s students gave qualified answers to them.

After discussing the defended works, the higher education applicants were informed of their grades.

The members of the commission expressed their sincere wishes to the graduates, and the master’s students expressed their gratitude to the teachers.

We congratulate the graduates on the successful defense of their master’s theses! We wish them good health, creative inspiration in their information activities, and professional achievements in the name of peace and freedom of Ukraine!
