Exhibition “From the Artistic Heritage of Opanas Slastion”

The exhibition “From the Artistic Heritage of Opanas Slastion” was held at the Vasyl Krychevsky Poltava Local Lore Museum.

On January 14, 2025, celebrations were held at the Vasyl Krychevsky Poltava Local Lore Museum dedicated to honoring the outstanding artist, ethnographer, art historian, architect, public and cultural figure Opanas Slastion on the occasion of the 170th anniversary of his birth.

Artur Aroian, associate professor of the Department of Fine and Decorative and Applied Arts, spoke at the exhibition.

The director of the museum, Oleksandr Suprunenko, Honored Worker of Culture, Candidate of Historical Sciences, addressed the audience with a welcoming speech.

Scientific reports on the complex of Opanas Slastion’s heritage were delivered by: art historian Vitalii Hanko, head of the sector of the funds department of our museum Oksana Sulima, and Artur Aroian, candidate of architecture, associate professor of the Department of Fine and Decorative and Applied Arts of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University, local historian, cultural manager. The curator of the exhibition is Hanna Barska.

The exhibition “From the Artistic Heritage of Opanas Slastion”, which presented sketches of small architecture for the Myrhorod State Resort, 1930. The architectural projects were kept by the resort’s foreman Ya. G. Shylianskyi and were later transferred from V. S. Panashchatenko to V. M. Khank in 1971. Publications about Opanas Slastion from different years are also presented.
