Workshops on Japanese Art

As part of the Days of Japanese Language and Culture at the Educational and Research Institute of Philology and Journalism, the guarantor of the educational program “Language and Literature (Japanese, English)”, Yulia Malakhova held workshop on making ikebana and Japanese origami.

On November 27, the workshop on creating ikebana was held. Ikebana is a traditional art of flower arranging in Japan, which originated in China in the 7th century, and was later adopted by the Japanese and acquired its unique greatness.

Yulia Malakhova began the event with a vivid presentation and spoke about the history of the creation of this ancient art and its features. She conducted a virtual tour of the ikebana exhibition in Japan, talked about the creation techniques, and demonstrated the tools that will be needed for such an activity.

Yulia created several compositions in real time, and those present not only had the opportunity to learn about the technique of making ikebana, but also to make their own masterpiece. Daryna Ubyivovk and Olga Kurenya demonstrated their works, together with the teacher discussed the ideas that formed the basis of their works.

We thank our talented and creative girls and wish them further creative inspiration!

On November 28, a meeting dedicated to the art of Japanese origami was held. Yulia Malakhova immersed those present in the history of the emergence and development of this exotic art, told about the method of making special paper and the technologies of folding origami.

Then practical work began: Mrs. Malakhova suggested making a perpetual clock with a Chinese horoscope. Everyone could create their own origami product using Japanese hieroglyphs, Chinese cyclic signs or even draw animals.
