Scientific Activities
The department has approved a comprehensive topic: “Research into the problems of vocational education, production technologies, and the service sector”. The topics of scientific research conducted by the department’s faculty are diverse. This is because the department employs candidates and doctors of technical, chemical, economic, pedagogical, and geographical sciences. The subject matter of scientific research and the results of research work reflect the spectrum of research conducted by the department’s faculty.
In 2019, two research topics were initiated at the VEHTM Department (the principal investigator: Assoc. Prof., Cand. Tech. Sci. Valeriy O. Kolesnikov):
- “Research and analysis of cutting products as indicators of alloy failure at various stages of product life cycle” (research project No. 0119U102465 (2019 – 2029));
- “Research and analysis of wear products as indicators of alloy failure at various stages of product life cycle” (research project No. 0119U102243 (2019 – 2029)).”
In 2024, a new research topic was initiated: “Influence of hydrogen and hydrogen-containing environments on the properties of steels and alloys used in the energy, power engineering, and transportation industries” (research project No. 0124U003385 (2024-2029). The responsible executor is Associate Professor, Candidate of Technical Sciences, Valeriy O. Kolesnikov.
Associate Professor of the VEHTM Department, Candidate of Technical Sciences, Maryna V. Lutsenko, continues working on the following research topics:
- “Valorization of by-products from vegetable oil extraction: obtaining valuable biologically active substances from low-value organic products”. Collaboration on this topic is carried out with scientists from the Dnipro State Agrarian and Economic University (Ukraine), the University of Brescia (Italy), and the Universities of Barcelona and Malaga (Spain).
- “Development and justification of equipment for sorting grain mixtures”. Scientific research in this direction is conducted based on LLC “Sorting Machines” in Dnipro.
The department’s faculty members are consistently enhancing and improving their scientific and pedagogical qualifications through internships at leading educational and research institutions in Ukraine and abroad.
Over the past five years, the department’s faculty have participated in over 100 international, all-Ukrainian, and regional conferences and seminars.
