Management of Internationalization of Ukrainian Higher Education Institutions Within the German-Ukrainian Academic Cooperation 2020 – 2021
State Institution “Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University” represented by the Head of the International Relations Department, Irina Mygovich, under the coordination of the first Vice-Rector of University Vitaliy Kurilo in 2020-2021, will participate in the one-year project “Managing the Internationalization of Ukrainian Higher Education Institutions of Higher Education Cooperation 2020 – 2021 ”(Management of Internationalization and German-Ukrainian Academic Cooperation 2020 – 2021), implemented by the German-Ukrainian Academic Society and German Managers Association scientific field in partnership with the University of Leibniz in the program of the German Academic Exchange Service (Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst – DAAD) supported by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine. In addition to our University, 17 other higher education institutions are participating in the project, including, among others: Lviv Polytechnic National University, Ivan Franko National University of L’viv, Ternopil Ivan Pului National Technical University , National University of “Kyiv-Mohyla Academy”, Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, Sumy State University, V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University, Vasyl` Stus Donetsk National University and others.
The aim of the project is to introduce the process of internationalization of the university’s educational, research and administrative activities, as well as to facilitate German-Ukrainian cooperation. According to the representatives of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine at the information session on the project, it is of particular value to the national higher education system of Ukraine, because by involving 18 leading educational institutions of the country will promote its more active integration into the European Higher Education Area (research), ensuring competitiveness selected universities by expanding the window of opportunity for international cooperation between institutions, their participation in international projects and programs, and in other words, improving the quality of the provision of educational services and carrying out the research activities of each selected university. Within the project implementation plan, the main steps include: three training sessions in Germany and one in Ukraine (03/22 – 04/01/2020, Hanover, University of Leibniz; 03/09 – 09/14/2020, Hanover, University of Leibniz / Bonn; February – March 2021, Hanover , Leibniz University / Berlin; 17.05 – 21.05, 2021, Kyiv, Taras Shevchenko National University); work on the project of internationalization of activity of own university; participation in online meetings and webinars; presentation of own project during the final session in 2021. Participants will also be provided with information support on the issues of financing international cooperation from prestigious foreign funds, differences between the German and Ukrainian higher education and research systems and more.
Within the framework of the project implementation, in February 2020, the project team of the University under the general leadership Vitaly Kurilо developed a poster presentation of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University to participate in the annual Higher Education Fair in Osnabruck, Germany, with the support of the German Network for the Management of Scientific Activity (German Science Management Network, Osnabruck, https://www.netzwerk-wissenschaftsmanagement.de/index.php?article_id=131).
