The Department of Journalism and Publishing is one of the youngest at the university. It was founded on March 10, 2005 by Doctor of Philology, Professor Valentyna Mykolaivna Halych, the organizer of a powerful scientific school, which was formed on the basis of the Faculty of Ukrainian Philology and Social Communications. The young teachers of this school, candidates of philological sciences, became the basis for the teaching staff throughout the existence of the Department.
To date, the educational activities of the Department of Journalism and Publishing are provided by highly qualified teachers, leading scientists and professional practitioners. The Department consists of 1 Doctor of Philology, Professor, 3 Candidates of Sciences in social communications, Associate Professors, including an experienced TV journalist practitioner, 1 assistant, postgraduate student of the Department of Social Pedagogy, master of journalism (educational program “Advertising”) and social pedagogy.
