Open Day at LTSNU

The team of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University held an Open Day for residents of the Lubny community.
On May 27, school graduates, their parents, educators, teachers and university students gathered in the walls of the “Kyivska Rus” cinema, where the team of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University was presented to everyone: the head of the Academic Council Vitalii Kurylo, the Rector of the University Olena Karaman, the Vice-Rector for Scientific of Pedagogical Work Yaroslav Yurkiv, head of the Primary Trade Union Organization Volodymyr Moroz, executive secretary of the admissions committee Viktoria Volodavchyk, directors of institutes, directors of colleges, deans of faculties, deputies of university departments, and teachers.
Before entering the lobby of the premises, the registration of future students took place and each institute, college, faculty at separate tables presented their educational services and distributed advertising and informational literature.
The event began with the national anthem of Ukraine and the opening speech of the Chairman of the Academic Council of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University, Academician of the National Academy of Educational Sciences of Ukraine, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor Vitalii Semenovych Kurylo.
Vitalii Semenovych congratulated the graduates, parents and everyone present. He presented the LTSNU, reminded about the 102-year age of the university and emphasized that now the institution and its team are creating new history and new traditions now already on the territory of Poltava region.
The Rector of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor Olena Leonidivna Karaman was invited to speak. Olena Karaman also warmly welcomed all those present and briefly spoke about the university as a big family of teachers, employees and students.
Olena Leonidivna emphasized that today Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University is a large educational, scientific and industrial complex, which includes 8 institutes, 3 faculties and 6 colleges. The basic educational institution trains qualified specialists at all educational (educational and scientific) levels and scientific degrees – bachelor’s, master’s, doctor of philosophy, doctor of science, advanced training. 6 vocational colleges graduate professional junior bachelors, and the Regional Center for Professional Education of LTSNU trains qualified workers.
The educational process in the basic educational institution is provided by more than 1,000 teachers — candidates, doctors of science, professors, academicians of Ukrainian and foreign academies of sciences. All conditions have been created for training all categories of the population. The Rector also reminded that the advantage of the university is a mixed form of education: face-to-face, distance learning.
At the end of the speech, she once again invited everyone to the university and thanked everyone who came.
In order to familiarize the attendees with the university’s institutes, faculties and specialties, a presentation video of the university was watched on the big screen.
It is known that the Ukrainian national elite, the great Ukrainian nation, is formed from the student body, therefore the head of the primary trade union organization of teachers and students of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor Moroz Volodymyr Petrovych was invited to speak.
Volodymyr Moroz noted that an important component of the educational process at the university is the system of student self-government. Taking into account the socio-political situation in Ukraine, it is increasingly important to educate the younger generation to a sense of patriotism, dedication to the national cause of strengthening the country, active citizenship, etc. Volodymyr Petrovych talked about the active life of students, about their participation in all events of the university and the city in general. Flash mobs, participation in trainings, volunteer actions – this is far from a complete list of what young people do. He congratulated the youth of the Lubny region and the whole of Ukraine, who in 2022 joined the ranks of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University students and said that the students are already making the first successes in education, science, sports, art, and socio-cultural activities.
The Chairman of the Primary Trade Union Organization concluded his speech with the words: “The most important people in the university are students!”, inviting future applicants to enter the university.
The video, which was presented to all present, told about the restless and energetic life of university freshmen.
At the event, it was announced to everyone that the admissions campaign in 2023 had begun, and the responsible secretary of the admissions committee, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor – Viktoria Volodavchyk told the guests with the rules and conditions of university admission.
Viktoria Volodavchyk reminded that the registration of personal electronic accounts will begin on July 1, 2023, informed the address of the admissions committee and provided contacts for feedback to the entrants.
At the end of the event, a small press conference was held, where the attendees asked any questions to the members of the presidium, representatives of the university, and they gladly answered them. The questions were versatile: about specialties, admission rules, the educational process, leisure time.
After the press conference, tea and informal communication with teachers and students awaited everyone in the hall. Those interested received all the necessary information from university specialists.
At the closing of the solemn event and in honor of all the guests, the Anthem of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University sounded.
