Open lecture

An open lecture by Yevhen Ivanov, Associate Professor of the Department of Public Service and Management of Educational and Social Institutions, on the free-choice discipline “Fundamentals of Democracy”.

On May 16, an open lecture was held by the Associate Professor of the Department of Public Service and Management of Educational and Social Institutions, Yevhen Ivanov, from the free-choice discipline “Fundamentals of Democracy” on the topic: “Content and Characteristics of the World’s Leading Models of Democracy” for master’s students majoring in 281 “Public Management and Administration”.

The lecture covered information on the organizational forms of democracy, characterized the world’s leading models of democracy, considered the features of the democracy development in modern Ukraine.

After the lecture, a meeting of the Department of Public Service and Management of Educational and Social Institutions was held, at which the open lecture was discussed. The acting head of the Department of Quality Management of Educational Activities, Associate Professor Margarita Kravchenko gave a positive high assessment of the open lecture, noted the relevance of the topic, the lecturer’s ability to present complex material at an accessible level using dialogic forms of education, interesting examples.

She noted that the lecturer notes for the students the connection of the new material of the lecture with the question that was already considered in the previous lecture, makes generalizations and draws conclusions. She mentioned that the lecture testifies to the high professional level of the teacher and meets the modern requirements of higher education. The teachers of the department noted that the topic of the lecture is of undeniable importance for students to acquire the necessary competencies for professional activity in the chosen specialty.

The Director of the Educational and Research Institute of Public Management, Administration and Postgraduate Education, Professor Volodymyr Zablotskyi, also noted the actualization of the topic of the lecture for students, which motivated students to study. He summarized that the conducted lesson meets the modern requirements of a higher school, the material is presented at a high scientific and educational-methodical level.

During the class, a presentation on the topic, relevant examples from history and the present, and systematic feedback were used. The organic application of various methods and methods of pedagogical influence contributed to the establishment of pedagogical contact, generated an emotional response in students of higher education and contributed to the activation of their cognitive activity, their own creative search.

The existing positive contact with the audience contributed to the support of students’ existing interest and desire for knowledge, the direction of their educational and scientific activities in the necessary direction, and the formation of a stable positive motivation for educational and cognitive activities.

During the voting, a unanimous decision was made to give a positive assessment of Yevhen Ivanov’s open lecture.
