Modern Ukrainian Girl at the ER IPP

On the occasion of the World Vyshyvanka Day, students and teachers of the ER IPP organized a photo contest “Modern Ukrainian Girl – 2023”.

The university students of various courses and specialties of the Educational and Research Institute of Pedagogy and Psychology of LTSNU took part in the competition.

The photos submitted to the competition are portraits of girls in national clothes of different regions of Ukraine, decorated with embroidered ornaments. The photos proved that the embroidery has a rich palette of colors, and the embroidery of each region is unique and distinctive.

Historians claim that Ukrainians have embroidered shirts from time immemorial, “enchanting” them for health, luck or love. Vyshyvanka is one of the brightest symbols of Ukrainian national and civic consciousness. In wartime, vyshyvanka is not just an element of the wardrobe, but also a powerful amulet.

Today, Ukrainian youth realizes that the vyshyvanka is not just a beautiful garment, but also an expression of the national position. Therefore, this holiday symbolizes not only spirituality, uniqueness and patriotism, but also the national and cultural identity of each of us.
Let’s take care of the vyshyvanka – a symbol of faith, hope, love, courage, struggle, and unity.
