Ukrainian Strongest Man Competition

On May 14, the spectacular Ukrainian Strongest Man Competition took place in the city of Zaporizhzhia.
Not only men but also women took part in the fight for medals. They competed in several weight categories.
ALL WISHING athletes, citizens of Ukraine, with the appropriate level of training, could take part in the competition, regardless of which federation or organization they are members of.
The Luhansk region was represented by two athletes, Dmytro Igolkin, “Master of Sports of Ukraine” from Severodonetsk, Oleksandr Dubovoi, “Master of Sports of Ukraine of International Class” from Rubizhne, Director of the Educational and Research Institute of Physical Education and Sports of LTSNU. Among the judges was the coach of the Youth School No. 1 of the city of Rubizhne, a judge of the international category, Master of Sports of Ukraine Volodymyr Dubovoi, senior teacher of the Department of Olympic and Professional Sports of our university.
The competition consisted of 5 exercises:
“Zercher” exercise;
Stonman’s log 130 kg.;
Farmer’s walk 130 kg. + 130 kg.;
Weight retention 20 kg;
Strongman’s pull 250 – 300 kg.
Oleksandr Dubovoi took the second place in the sum of 5 exercises, which allows him to continue to perform as part of the national team of Ukraine in the Strongest Man Competitions.
Dmytro Igolkin won the second place in the weight category over 105 kg in a fierce fight. Having set a new Ukrainian record in the exercise of holding weight on straight arms. “50.6 seconds”.
