Oksana Ochkurova, head of the Public Organization “Center for Social Development “Diieva Hrodama” gave a guest lecture “Public Organization in Evacuation”.

On May 12, Oksana Serhiivna Ochkurova, head of the Public Organization “Center for Social Development “Diieva Hromada”, gave a guest lecture “Public Organization in Evacuation”.

The event was attended by students majoring in “Political Science” and “Sociology”, as well as teachers of the Department of Philosophy and Sociology and the Department of Political Science and Law.

Mrs. Oksana told about her experience of evacuating the organization from Starobilsk community to Svaliava. The participants of the event asked the speaker questions about the change in the structure of the organization during and after the evacuation, about the challenges she faced after moving to a new community, about the beneficiaries and the target group with whom she works, about cooperation with the authorities and other public organizations, donors. They discussed the future plans and risks of the organization, as well as discussed conflict situations in the community and the organization’s place to solve them. They talked about social tension among local and forcibly displaced people.

This lecture was held as part of the educational component “Sociology of Organization and Management”. Thus, the participants of the lecture were able to improve their knowledge, gain experience in analyzing the case of the relocation of organizations and further apply it in the work of a sociologist.
