Academic Council meeting

A meeting of the Academic Council was held at Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University.
The following issues were considered on the agenda:
- about the development of the system of advanced training of scientific and pedagogical workers at the university;
- about the awarding of academic titles.
- miscellaneous.
After listening to and discussing the report of Anatolii Zhuchok, Vice-Rector for Scientific and Pedagogical Work, on the development of the system for improving the qualifications of scientific and pedagogical workers at the university, the Academic Council noted that, in accordance with the Regulation on professional development at Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University, scientific and pedagogical workers improve their qualifications at least once every five years, and during this period they must acquire at least 6 ECTS credits.
Today, the university has 30 agreements on cooperation with foreign universities (Great Britain, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Cyprus, the People’s Republic of China, Latvia, Poland, the Republic of Moldova, Romania, the United States of America) and 14 agreements on advanced training with Ukrainian higher education institutions. In the period from September 2022 to April 2023, 35 scientific and pedagogical workers of the university completed internships at Ukrainian higher education institutions, 8 people from other higher education institutions completed internships at Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University, 3 people abroad.
The Vice-Rector for Scientific and Pedagogical Work Yaroslava Yurkiv, Director of the Educational and Research Institute of Public Management, Administration and Postgraduate Education Volodymyr Zablotskyi, Rector of the University Olena Karaman, Head of the Department of Political Science and Law Svitlana Vovk, Head of the Department of Music Art and Choreography Iryna Tsebriy took part in the discussion.
According to the results of the secret vote, by the decision of the Academic Council, Doctor of Historical Sciences Oleksandr Naboka was awarded the academic title of Professor of the Department of History of Ukraine; Doctor of Political Sciences Olena Balatska was awarded the academic title of Associate Professor of the Department of World History and International Relations; Doctor of Philosophy in Earth Sciences Dmytro Sopov was awarded the academic title of Associate Professor of the Department of Chemistry, Geography and Earth Sciences.
Among the miscellaneous, by open vote of the Academic Council, a decision was made to amend the Regulations on the work program of the educational component at Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University; on the approval of the Regulation on the procedure for recognition of learning results obtained through formal, informal and/or informal education at Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University; on the cancellation of the procedure for the recognition of learning results and the approval of the procedure for recognizing the learning results obtained through formal education and the procedure for recognizing the learning results obtained through informal and/or informal education; on the approval of the Rules for admission to LTSNU and separate structural subdivisions in 2023; on the recommendation for publication of scientific and educational-methodological works; on the approval of dissertation topics for obtaining the scientific degree of Doctor of Philosophy.
