Soundtrack to the movie “Motanka film”

The author’s song of the teacher of the ER ICA became the soundtrack to the movie “Motanka film”.

“Motanka film” was presented at the Poltava Puppet Theater on May 18. The film has already received recognition as part of the International Book Fair in Vilnius “700 Lines for Freedom”.

The film was created thanks to the joint work of the Poltava regional children’s public organization “Century of Beauty” together with the honored master of folk art of Ukraine, art curator of the creative art hub “OTOLOVKO” Natalia Svyrydiuk. The collection of dolls of the Svyridiuk family was used in the film.

“Motanka film” introduces the viewer to various techniques and types of folk decorative and applied art. During the filming, shirts from various districts of the historical Poltava region were used: they were made using the “white on white” technique on home-spun hemp canvas; decorated with a geometrical floral ornament made in the “counting surface” technique, threads dyed with vegetable dyes; shirts of the first half of the 20th century embroidered with red and black floral ornament in the “cross” technique (according to the information agency “News of Poltava region”).

The soundtrack for the film was written by Larisa Borysenko, a teacher of the Department of Musical Art and Choreography of the ER ICA, a soloist of the Poltava Regional Philharmonic. The soundtrack was a song that already has its fans – “My native land”.
