“Yakubinska Scientific Session”

The 17th International Scientific and Practical Conference “Yakubinska Scientific Session” was recently held.

The organizers of the conference are the Kharkiv branch of the Sociological Association of Ukraine and the Faculty of Sociology of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University.

This year, the traditional Yakub scientific session was held in the format of a “round table” on the topic “Ukrainian Sociological Thought: Introspection, Retrospection, Perspective”. Within the framework of the “round table” the issues of formation and development of domestic sociology were discussed; creative achievements of such prominent representatives of Ukrainian sociological thought as Mykhailo Drahomanov, Mykhailo Hrushevskyi, Mykyta Shapoval, Viacheslav Lypynskyi, Bohdan Kistyakivskyi, Ivan Franko and other Ukrainian scientists, writers and public figures, their contribution to the intellectual and institutional design of Ukrainian sociology; possibilities and limitations of applying the theoretical heritage of domestic sociology to the analysis of various problems of life in modern Ukrainian society.

Great attention was paid to the importance of creativity of the founders of modern domestic sociological science: Olena Yakuba, Iryna Popova, Natalia Panina. Svitlana Khobta took part in the conference with a report “Research with a children’s audience: organizational features and tools.”
