The undisputed leader of the tournament was Oleksii Kotliar, master of sports of Ukraine in chess, fourth-year student majoring in Physical Culture and Sports. Despite this, the fight was fierce and fought on every board.
All the same, Oleksii’s skill allowed him to win all the games and become the winner. The second place was taken by Oleksandr Semeniuk – third-year students majoring in Physical Culture and Sports; the third place was taken by Mykyta Maiboroda – second-year majoring in Secondary Education. It should be noted that Mykyta is a candidate for master of sports in handball, and Oleksandr is a master of sports in modern pentathlon. So our athletes are not only strong, but also smart!
All participants were satisfied; they thanked for the opportunity to meet at the chess board with their friends, gain experience playing in this format, and expressed their desire to hold similar tournaments in the future.
We would like to express our special thanks to the main judge of the tournament – Oleg Stoliarevskyi, who is acting executive director of the NGO “Luhansk Regional Chess Federation”.
