Guest lecture at the Faculty of Natural Sciences

On April 5, the Faculty of Natural Sciences hosted a guest lecture “Assessment of the Threat of an Outbreak of Phytoinvasions Due to the War”. 

Ms. Oksana Kucher, Candidate of Biological Sciences, researcher at the Department of Geobotany and Ecology, M. G. Kholodny Institute of Botany (Kyiv) held a guest lecture for students of all majors of the Faculty of Natural Sciences.

The meeting was organized on the initiative of the Department of Landscape Gardening and Ecology; the meeting was moderated by Iryna Kyrpychova, Associate Professor of the Department of Landscape Gardening and Ecology.

A retrospective look at the processes of resettlement of wild plant species to new territories after wars, which are known to us from history; modern studies of the destruction of the nature reserve fund and the threat of the outbreak of phytoinvasions as a result of hostilities on the territory of Ukraine – issues that aroused the keen interest of both teachers and students. The academic community of the Faculty of Natural Sciences expresses its sincere gratitude to Ms. Oksana for the interesting and important information learned during the meeting.
