Wonderful world of MariIa Pryimachenko

Teachers and students of the Institute of Culture and Arts attended a lecture on the work of Ukrainian artist Mariia Pryimachenko.

On March 23, teachers and students of the ER ICA, in particular, students majoring in “Fine Art, Decorative Art, Restoration”, “Graphic Design” and “Audiovisual Art and Production”, attended a lecture at the Poltava Regional Universal Scientific Libruary named after I.P. Kotliarevskyi.

The lecturer was Olga Chepil, a teacher of the Poltava Professional College of Arts named after M.V. Lysenko, gave a wonderful and fascinating lecture about the life and work of the Ukrainian artist, a representative of naive art, Mariia Pryimachenko, whose work was admired by Pablo Picasso and Marc Chagall.

At the very beginning of the full-scale war, the Russian occupiers burned down the historical and local history museum in Ivankiv, Kyiv region, where Pryimachenko’s works were kept. But local residents were able to carry out the flames and save all her works.

Those present got to know Maria Oksentiivna’s naive fairy-tale characters. All her paintings are her observations of nature, animals, people and her rich imagination. Maria Priymachenko’s works testify to the fact that behind them stands a large, diverse school of folk art, a centuries-old culture of the people. It’s like a bundle of emotional impressions from fairy tales, legends, and life itself.
