An online meeting

An online meeting with stakeholders, education seekers and graduates of the educational program “Language and Literature (Spanish, English)” was held at the Department of Romance and Germanic Philology.

On March 22, 2023, the Department of Romance and Germanic Philology held an online meeting with the stakeholders of the educational program “Language and Literature (Spanish, English)” in order to discuss issues related to improving and perfecting the compliance of its content with the requirements of the labor market.

The meeting was attended by the head of the program, prof. Koknova T.A.; Prof. Dmytrenko V.I.; head of the department of Ukrainian and foreign literature, prof. Kryzhanovska O.O.; head of the Department of Romance and Germanic Philology, associate professor Yunina O.E., teacher of Spanish and English language Kharkovsky E.M., stakeholders (head of the department of French and Spanish languages of the Horlivka University of Foreign Languages of the Donbas State Pedagogical University, associate professor N.A. Potreba; director of Kryvorizky lyceum No. 71 Tkachenko N. O.; Director of the Communal Institution “Poltava General Education School of 1-3 Degrees No. 20 named after Boris Serga of the Poltava City Council of the Poltava Region” Sorochan V. S.; Deputy Director for Educational Work of the Communal Institution of the Poltava Council “Poltavska regional Small Academy of Sciences of Pupil Youth”; teacher of Spanish at the private school “Espanita”, V.O. Adamovych; director of the private school “ABC Language School”; teacher of Spanish language Shabas O.A. at the private institution “General Secondary Education “IT Step Poltava”), graduates (Shkarlet V., Kaliberda G.) and students receiving education (Grechishkina K.).

Stakeholders spoke about the program and provided their recommendations for its optimization.

In particular, the representative of the academic community, the head of the French and Spanish language department of the Horli University of Foreign Languages of the Donbas State Pedagogical University, candidate of philological sciences, associate professor N.A. Potreba, believes that it would be useful to involve native speakers to participate in the teaching of educational components or before conducting language and communicative practice or meetings of the language club. In addition, she suggests involving stakeholders in the presentation of practices and conducting specialty classes.

Spanish language teachers from the representative of the stakeholder “Espanita” and the stakeholder “ABC Language School” note that it would be appropriate to pay attention in the context of the formation of competences and the use of modern technologies, which form the critical thinking of students of education, and specialists who would shape the information culture of students of education from by expanding the informational and psychological influence on the subconscious of young people by mass media. in addition, it would be expedient to introduce technologies that protect mechanisms regarding the informational and psychological impact of mass communication.

Spanish language teacher, representative of the stakeholder of the Private Institution “General Secondary Education “IT Step Poltava”” Schabas O. A. draws attention to the fact that the graduates of this program have the opportunity not only to use the knowledge and skills acquired under the specified educational program, but also to teach Spanish language, relying on the latest technologies and creating interesting tasks based on them. In addition, future specialists should learn how to motivate students, develop their interest in Spanish culture and history.

The graduate of educational program Shkarlet V. notes that it is necessary to include blocks in practice tasks that can be conducted exclusively in a remote format, taking into account today’s realities. The graduate of educational program Kaliberda G. emphasized that it is necessary to constantly monitor among the graduates of the educational program, to what extent the skills obtained in the process of professional training are relevant and in demand in today’s labor market, what is missing, and in which educational component it could be introduced.

The student K. Grechishkina proposed to include in the tasks for practice tasks that can be carried out exclusively in a remote format, taking into account the current realities.

Director of the Communal Institution “Poltava Secondary School No. 20 named after Borys Serga of the Poltava City Council of the Poltava Region” Sorochan V.S. noted that the school has experience working in an inclusive environment and has the opportunity to share it with our students.

The representative of the stakeholder of Kryvyi Rih Lyceum No. 71 presented their educational institution and offered wide opportunities for employment of our graduates. The Lyceum has a huge potential for introducing modern technologies for teaching foreign languages to students in different languages.

All stakeholders note that the specified program meets the requirements for the training of specialists in the specialty 014 Secondary education, field of knowledge 01 Education / Pedagogy, specialization: “Language and literature (Spanish, English)” educational qualification “Bachelor of secondary education” Language and literature (Spanish, English), professional qualification “Teacher of Spanish, English languages and foreign literature”), modern needs of the labor market and challenges of the European area of higher education.

The meeting took place in a friendly atmosphere. The teaching staff noted that all recommendations and wishes will be taken into account and will contribute to the improvement of the EP. Students of the Educational Program Language and Literature (Spanish, English) had the opportunity to communicate directly with stakeholders and received their recommendations.
