World Day of Social Work

During the celebration of the World Day of Social Work, the Department of Social Pedagogy took part in the online event “New Horizons in Social Work”.

Every year on the third Tuesday of March, the World Day of Social Work is celebrated all over the world, which was introduced on the initiative of the International Federation of Social Workers, the International Association of Schools of Social Work, and the International Council on Social Security.

Within the celebration of the World Day of Social Work, representatives of the teaching staff of the Department of Social Pedagogy of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University took part in the online event of the Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine and the United Nations Children’s Fund “UNICEF” “New Horizons in Social Work”.

At this event, the Minister of Social Policy of Ukraine, Oksana Zholnovich, presented the vision of the further development of the social sphere of Ukraine, discussed it, outlined the prospects for further interaction of the Ministry of Social Policy with potential partners at various levels, and also awarded the best social workers of the year.

It should be noted that at this event, Associate Professor of the Department of Social Pedagogy, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences Svitlana Tuntuieva received a trainer’s certificate for the program of training candidates for foster parents, foster parents, guardians, adoptive parents.
