Eternal memory to Oleksandr Andriiovych Halych

Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University is deeply saddened to announce the death of our colleague, Doctor of Philological Sciences, Professor, outstanding figure in the education of Ukraine, Honored Worker of Science and Technology of Ukraine, Honorary Professor of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University Oleksandr Andriiovych Halych. 

Oleksandr Andriiovych graduated from the Faculty of Philology of the Donetsk State University, worked as a teacher in the city of Dokuchaievsk, Donetsk region. After graduation, he went from assistant to professor at Rivne Pedagogical Institute and Luhansk National University. He held the position of the head of the Department of Theory of Literature and Comparative Studies at LTSNU.

Oleksandr Andriiovych devoted his entire life to scientific and pedagogical activities. Over the years of conscientious work, our colleague became the author of more than 460 scientific and scientific-methodological works, including: 12 monographs, 20 textbooks and manuals. Under his leadership, 8 doctoral theses and 37 candidate theses were defended. He managed the Luhansk branch of the National Academy of Sciences and in the period from 2000 to 2017 he headed the Eastern branch of the T.G. Shevchenko Institute of Literature of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.

We will remember Oleksandr Andriiovych as a person of high morality, justice and professionalism, whose contribution to science and education will forever remain in the history of the university and the country.

We express our deepest condolences to the relatives, colleagues, and friends of Oleksandr Andriiovych. Let the earth be fluff to him.
