13.3.2023
Completion of work on the large-scale All-Ukrainian project ” Embroidering Ukraine with Science “.
In August of this year, the project “Embroidering Ukraine with science” was launched, initiated by the Council of Young Scientists under the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine. The idea of the project is the creation of a large embroidered map of Ukraine as a symbol of unity and scientific potential. The goal of the project is to unite scientists in common aspirations for the revival and strengthening of Ukraine.
Luhansk region was represented in the project by Vice Dean in charge of Social and Humanitarian Affairs, Lecturer of Tranlation Studies Department, Chairman of the Council of Young Scientists and Students of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National university Olha Korinska. In addition to performing the duties of regional coordinator, she became the only craftswoman who worked on embroidery of her region.
The first cross of the map was made on November 19, and just on March 11 the region was completely embroidered. During four months, the craftswoman used 22 skeins of thread.
Despite the fact that the region was being evacuated, in the city of Poltava, where the university was temporarily evacuated in February 2022, we are sure that we will all soon return to our native land, home.
Already in spring the map of Luhansk region will be part of the embroidered map of Ukraine, the size of which will reach 3m x 5m with a decorated frame of almost 7 km of threads of different colors, which will be handed over to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
The result of the joint work of scientists will become a powerful talisman of our country, a symbol of its unity and indomitability.
We thank Ms. Olha for her civic attitude, as well as fruitful and painstaking work.
