Oleksandr Andriyovych Halych, a well-known scientist and Honorary Professor of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University, suddenly passed away.

The university staff expresses its condolences to the family and friends.

Oleksandr Andriyovych Halych is a literary critic, doctor of philological sciences, professor, an outstanding figure in the education of Ukraine, and an honored worker in science and technology in Ukraine. He worked as the head of the Department of Ukrainian Literature and later the Department of Literary Theory and Comparative Studies at Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University. He headed the eastern branch of the Institute of Literature of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. He is the author of more than 500 scientific and scientific-methodical works, including 12 monographs and 20 textbooks and manuals. Under the leadership of Oleksandr Andriyovych, 8 doctoral theses and 37 candidate theses were defended.

Oleksandr Andriyovych was a successful and wise leader, a scientist, and an example for the younger generation.

His bright memory will forever remain in our hearts.
