Shevchenko Week

Shevchenko week dedicated to the 209th anniversary of the birth of Taras Shevchenko was held at Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University.

Every year, on the eve of the birthday of the Ukrainian genius, the founder of new Ukrainian literature, Taras Shevchenko, the whole world honors his memory.

Thus, Luhansk Taras Shevchenko  National University announced a literary and artistic competition dedicated to the 209th anniversary of Kobzar’s birth. According to tradition, the organizer of this event was the Faculty of Ukrainian Philology and Journalism. The competition was held in three nominations: “Performer” – a poem or a prose work from the work of T. Shevchenko, “Drawing” – the best drawing for the works of T. Shevchenko, “Photography” – an artistic photograph of the monument to T. Shevchenko with the actors below it .

The competition was attended by students of the Regional Center for Professional Education of LTSNU; Educational and Research Institute of Physics, Mathematics and Information Technologies; Educational and Research Institute of Pedagogy and Psychology; Educational and Research Institute of Culture and Arts; Professional College of LTSNU; Rubizhne Professional College of LTSNU; Faculty of Ukrainian Philology and Journalism.

Contestants submitted video recordings of their readings of individual works and fragments (excerpts) from the work of T. Shevchenko. Their talents and skills were evaluated by Artem Halych, Doctor of Philological Sciences, Professor, Dean of the Faculty; Iryna Boitsun, Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Ukrainian and Foreign Literature; Oksana Korchagina, Candidate of Sciences in Social Communications, Associate Professor of the Department of Journalism and Publishing.
