Career orientation event

On March 7, the Department of Algebra and System Analysis held a career orientation event for the senior pupils of the Cherkasy Specialized School No. 33 named after Vasyl Symonenko.
The career orientation event was organized as part of the recently concluded cooperation agreement between the Department of Algebra and System Analysis with the Cherkasy School. The event took place remotely, via the online platform “Zoom”. The meeting began with a welcome speech by the Head of the Department, Yurii Zhuchok, Professor, Ph.D., who told future applicants about the main activities of the Department of Algebra and System Analysis.
Further, the guarantors of the educational and professional programs reported on the possibilities of studying in the mathematical specialties of our university. Olena Toichkina, Associate Professor, Ph.D.-M.Sc. described the advantages of studying in the specialty “014 Secondary Education (Mathematics)” of the first (bachelor’s) level.
Yuliia Zhuchok, Associate Professor, Ph.D. told about the specialties of the second (master’s) level of education “111 Mathematics” and “014 Secondary Education (Mathematics)”.
Anatolii Zhuchok, Vice-Rector for Scientific and Pedagogical Work, Professor, Doctor of Physics and Medical Science, told about the possibility of studying at the Postgraduate School with the specialty “111 Mathematics”, emphasizing that the Department provides a full cycle of education from undergraduate to postgraduate school.
At the end of the meeting, Yurii Zhuchok presented a popular science presentation “Classification of two-element doppelsemigroups”. With the help of numerous examples, such a classic problem as the classification of mathematical objects according to a certain property was considered in an accessible form.
At the end of the event, the director of the Special School, Oksana Kovalenko, thanked for providing useful information to senior pupils and expressed hope for further close cooperation. The Department of Algebra and System Analysis wishes success to the pupils of the Cherkasy School in choosing their future profession. Let this choice be successful and bring a happy future!
