Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the US Civilian Research and Development Foundation.
Thus, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University and the US Civilian Research and Development Foundation, which aims to create conditions for the exchange of ideas, information, experience and for cooperation in the field of information security and cyber protection.
Taking into account the mutual interest in fruitful cooperation and the desire to exchange experience on a wide range of issues of professional competence between experts of Ukraine and the USA, during January-February, scientists of our university prepared and signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the US Civilian Research and Development Foundation.
In this document, it is determined that information and communication technologies (ICT) have opened up new opportunities and are important tools for the socio-economic development of states, and taking into account that the use of ICT has also caused a number of new threats, such as cybercrime, cyberespionage, hacktivism, cyberterrorism, and that these threats are dynamically growing worldwide and becoming increasingly sophisticated.
Thus, as a result of a number of preliminary negotiations and agreements, as well as based on the provisions of the Ukraine-USA Charter on strategic partnership and the Agreement between the Government of Ukraine and the Government of the United States of America on humanitarian and technical and economic cooperation, it was possible to sign a Memorandum of Understanding aimed at promoting cooperation and aimed at:
- creation of conditions for exchange of ideas, information and experience, as well as for interaction in the field of information security and cyber protection;
- improvement of educational, scientific, technical and technological capabilities of the Parties, intensification and expansion of ties between the cyber security communities of both countries, as well as promotion of educational, scientific, technical and technological cooperation in fields of mutual interest and contributing to peaceful goals;
- gaining experience in the field of management, use of technical resources, data analysis and identification of information security and cyber security needs in Ukraine;
- increasing the general level of cyber protection, implementation and development of information data security systems, as well as systems in which they are processed.
