Mother Language Day

The Department of Philological Disciplines celebrates International Mother Language Day.

On February 21, together with the entire world community, the Department of Philological Disciplines of the Educational and Research Institute of Pedagogy and Psychology of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University (Poltava) celebrates International Mother Language Day.

The Ukrainian language, the history of which goes back to the distant past, has a rich lexical and phraseological dictionary, a developed system of grammatical categories and forms, well-developed stylistic varieties. It is one of the sweetest languages in the world. It ranks 22nd among more than 5,000 languages in terms of the number of people who communicate with it. Today, the Ukrainian language is heard on all continents of the world.

We wish all Ukrainians to affirm and protect their native language, because it serves to unite past and future generations, glorifies Ukraine, is a spiritual source of life and a powerful talisman of our people!
