The life of one of the leading scientists of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University, Professor Mykhailo Buryan, was cut short. The university staff expresses its sincere condolences to his relatives and friends.

Mykhailo Stepanovych Burian – historian, orientalist, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor, Honored Worker of Science and Technology of Ukraine. He worked at the university since 1985, was the Dean of the History Faculty, and headed the Department of World History and International Relations for a long time.

When the Educational and Research Institute of History, International Relations and Socio-Political Sciences was created on the basis of the History Faculty, Mykhailo Stepanovych did a lot for its development. He was a famous orientalist and made a significant contribution to science.

Mykhailo Stepanovych Burian was remembered as a wise teacher for students, a sensitive and kind person, open and decent to his colleagues.

The administration and teaching staff of the university express their sincere condolences to the relatives and friends.
