Meeting of department heads with internal stakeholders

On January 30, 2023, a meeting of university department heads with internal stakeholders took place: guaranteeors of educational programs, students of higher education, and teachers.
The purpose of the meeting was to coordinate the joint efforts of participants in the educational process in the direction of improving educational programs and the effective implementation of the internal system for ensuring the quality of education.
The meeting was attended by university rector Olena Karaman, vice rector for scientific and pedagogical work Yaroslava Yurkiv, and Anatoliy Zhuchok.
The Rector, Olena Karaman, stressed that the educational programs under which the university prepares students for higher education should meet the requirements of external evaluation, in particular the criteria for evaluating the quality of the educational program developed by NAZYVO.
Vice-Rector for Scientific and Pedagogical Work Anatoliy Zhuchok introduced meeting participants to normative documents governing academic integrity at the university (regulations on academic integrity of participants in the educational process, procedure for academic integrity observance); and software used at the university for testing plagiarism in qualification works and other types of scientific and educational order among participants in the educational process.
Maria Pochynkova, the acting director of the library, stated that the University School of Academic Integrity will resume operations in April 2023. By September last year, the majority of teachers and senior-year students took part in this school. The university has access to international information resources and databases, works around the clock with the repository, and agreements have been concluded with the libraries of the cities where it has three locations (Poltava, Lubny, and Myrhorod), thanks to which our applicants have access to the book funds of these libraries.
About posting information about the organization and content of the educational process on the university’s website; providing applicants with access to information resources, in particular working programs of educational components and syllabi, and other educational and methodological materials; a system for reviewing and evaluating the content of educational components; the procedures for rewriting the educational component, contesting the results of the semester control of a higher education applicant, and recognizing the results of studies obtained in other educational institutions and in non-formal education were discussed in the speech of the acting head of the educational department, Valentina Lesnova.
The head of the international relations department, Iryna Myhovych, provided information on the implementation of programs of international academic mobility and the stimulation and support of international academic projects.
In the center of attention of the head of the personnel department, Vita Nykytenko, was the procedure of competitive selection for the post of scientific and pedagogical employee and the system of encouragement of teachers for achievement in scientific and educational activity.
Marharyta Kravchenko, Acting Head of Quality Management Department, emphasized that departments, authorities, and responsibilities that are clearly defined in the provision of internal quality of education are responsible for the implementation of processes and procedures for internal quality of education at the university. The level of educational activity at the university depends on their coordinated work. At the same time, other internal and external stakeholders play a major role, which at different stages, take part in the process of evaluating the quality of the educational program and making changes to it. According to the regulation on the survey of students of higher education, graduates, and employers, anonymous questionnaires are conducted at the university, the results of which are published on the site and discussed at the meetings of the department. The respondents’ proposals are considered by the educational programs. The academic community of the university is involved in periodic reviews of the procedures for ensuring quality education. Thus, the provisions and procedures governing the rights and obligations of all participants in the educational process are clear, understandable, transparent, and accessible.
The transparency and publicity of the information posted on the site of the university were also noted, as was the acting head of the Information Technologies Center, Mykola Semenov.
Valentyna Vovk, Head of the Career Development Center, spoke about the university’s connections with graduates, typical employment opportunities, and methods of collecting information on career paths.
Anton Namiev said that the problems in the sphere of life, in particular mental health, are most often faced by the applicants, who take measures through the university’s psychological service to solve these problems.
Hanna Serik, the head of the social service sector, became acquainted with the mechanisms of social support for students of higher education, particularly support for people with special needs.
The information provided by the heads of departments caused a lot of questions from guarantors, applicants, and teachers, and sometimes even discussions.
The participants of the meeting noted its constructiveness and productivity, expressed their desire to continue practicing this format, and thanked the deputy head of the department of quality management of educational activity, Maksym Saibekov, for the technical support.
