Tribute to the Memory of the Heroes

LNU teachers and students jointly with Starobilsk citizens have commemorated the Heavenly Hundred Heroes.

On February 19, on the eve of the Heavenly Hundred Heroes Remembrance Day, Regional Local History Museum conducted a historical lesson on those important events of winter 2014. On completing, they lighted the first candle in memory of the died on Maidan, Hrushevskyi and Instytutska Streets in Kyiv for the honour, freedom and right of being the Ukrainians and for the native Motherland.

After the lesson everybody took part in the honorary procession from museum to the monument to the soldiers fallen for the independence of Ukraine in the city culture and leisure park to lay flowers and candles.

The event memorized heavy human, social and national courage and dedication that have changed the course of our history, commemorated the feat of the Heavenly Hundred Heroes who gave their lives for the democracy ideals, human’s rights, freedoms and the European future of Ukraine during the Revolution of Dignity (November 2013 – February 2014).
