Meeting of the Department of Production Technologies and Professional Education

On January 25, 2023, a meeting of the Department of Production Technologies and Professional Education was held.

The Head of the Department Viktor Burdun summed up the results of the first semester of the 2022-2023 academic year and outlined plans for the second semester.

Among the achievements of the first semester were noted:

• 1. The results of the introductory campaign are quite good for such a difficult year. 53 people entered the bachelor’s level of higher education in three specialties of the department; for the master’s level of higher education – 55 people.
• 2. Teachers of the Department prepared and published 4 educational and methodological works.
• 3. Under the guidance of the teachers, students of various specialties of the Department wrote articles that were published in two collections of student scientific works “Scientific Search of Young Researchers” No. 5 of 2022 and No. 1 of 2023.
• 4. Teachers of the Department prepared and submitted to the editors 4 articles in periodicals, which are included in the scientometric database Scopus. Two of them have already been published. The head of the department noted the high indicators of the scientific work of the  Associate Professor Valerii Oleksandrovych Kolesnikov.
• 5. Teachers of the Department have already participated in the work of 9 international scientific and practical conferences.
• 6. Summarizing the results of the educational work, Viktor Vasyliovych noted the effective and proper work of assistant professor Olha Oleksandrivna Reviakina. However, he noted certain problems in working with students in the Teams program and on the distance education site Moodle and called on the teachers of the department to correct all the gaps in this work in the second semester.
• 7. The final attestation of the master’s students took place on January 23-25, 2023. 13 masters were admitted to it. The final attestation was clear and organized. The graduates demonstrated a high level of training and successfully defended their qualification papers.
• 8. Teachers of the Department constantly improve their professional qualifications: they undergo internships and various advanced training courses. Vasetska Larisa Oleksandrivna completed an international internship remotely (6 credits). Marina Vasylivna Lutsenko is doing an offline international internship in Barcelona.

Regarding plans for the second semester:

• On March 21-22, 2023, the Department of Production Technologies and Professional Education together with other Departments of the Institute, will organize an international scientific and practical conference.
• Update of curricula of the “Professional Education” specialty.
• Updating the list of optional disciplines.
• Preparation of students of higher education for the final attestation. And this year, 82 bachelors are graduating.
• Preparation for accreditation. In the fall, the Department will undergo accreditation for the specialty “Professional Education. Agricultural Production, Processing of Agricultural Products and Food Technologies”.
• Preparation of educational and methodological developments.
• Participation in conferences.
• Writing articles.
