Unity Day of Ukraine
22.1.2023
Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University joined the celebration of the Unity Day of Ukraine.
The Unity Day of Ukraine is a holiday celebrated annually on January 22. It is the day of the proclamation of the Act of Unification of the Ukrainian People’s Republic and the West Ukrainian People’s Republic, which took place in 1919. Also on this day, it is customary to remember another great event that took place exactly one year earlier on January 22, 1918 — the adoption of the IV Universal of the Ukrainian SSR, which declared the complete independence of the Ukrainian SSR.
105 years ago, Ukrainians proclaimed the independence of their state, making a bold display of the people’s will for self-determination and consolidation. Then the whole world was shown the true Ukrainian spirit, the indivisibility of the Ukrainian land, the strength and unity of the Ukrainian nation.
Today, as it was a century ago, the Unity Day of Ukraine is extremely important. The best sons of Ukraine are once again forced to defend the territorial integrity of their state. In the conditions of Russia’s aggression against Ukraine, which brought so much destruction, suffering and pain to every Ukrainian, we once again proved to the whole world that our strength is in unity and as long as we are united, there will be a united and invincible Ukrainian state!
On this day, we sincerely congratulate you on the Unity Day of the Ukrainian spirit! We wish each of you strength and courage, which are so necessary today. May peace and tranquility, love and mutual understanding prevail in every Ukrainian family!
Glory to Ukraine and the Ukrainian people! Glory to the Armed Forces of Ukraine! Unity is our strength!
Happy holiday!
