An open guest lecture on the topic “Brain Networks, Resilience Zone, Practicing Resilience” was held.
On January 16, 2023, an open lecture for students majoring in “Social Work” of the educational program “Social Work. Social Pedagogy. Practical Psychology” was held. It was conducted by Olha Ihorivna Rasskazaova, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor, Professor of the Department of Social Work of the PI “Kharkiv Humanitarian and Pedagogical Academy” of the Kharkiv Regional Council.
The topic of the lecture is extremely relevant today, because in the conditions of war, future social workers must understand and learn how to influence the mechanisms of personal stability in order to preserve their own mental health and provide high-quality social and psychological services to clients.
At the online event, the lecturer presented information on how to develop a vocabulary of feelings, a network of resilience and a positive outlook of an individual, revealed the concept of “resourcefulness” and ways to find it, and also worked with the students on resourcefulness exercises.
The listeners were especially interested in the information about neural networks of the brain and its work during a traumatic, stressful event, as well as exercises to stabilize the nervous system.
Summing up, Olha Ihorivna emphasized the importance of mastering the skills of personal resilience by future specialists in the social sphere, and also called for useful resources for professional growth.
