Faculty of Foreign Languages signed a Cooperation Agreement

On January 13, 2023, the Faculty of Foreign Languages signed the Cooperation Agreement with the Communal Institution “Boris Serga Poltava Secondary School of I-III Degrees No. 20”.

On January 13, 2023, the Faculty of Foreign Languages of the State Institution “Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University” represented by the Dean of the Faculty, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor Iryna MYHOVYCH, signed the Cooperation Agreement with the Communal Institution “Boris Serga Poltava Secondary School of I-III Degrees No. 20” (https://www.facebook.com/groups/331608870683337/; http://znz20poltava.ucoz.ua/) in the person of the Headmistress of the school, Valentyna SOROCHAN.

The expediency of concluding the Agreement is due to the understanding by both parties of the need and importance of complex interaction to ensure the quality and continuity of philological education in the Poltava region and the city of Poltava, taking into account the desire of both parties to establish mutually beneficial partnership relations on a parity basis.

The communal institution “Boris Serga Poltava Secondary School of I-III Degrees No. 20” begins its history in 1874, when the first premises of the school were built by the Poltava Zemstvo; in 1965, the educational institution was named after Boris Serga, who during World War II took an active part in the activities of the youth group “Invincible Poltava Woman” and gave his life for his native Poltava.

During the meeting, the parties also discussed issues of organizing and conducting trainings for school teachers on innovative methods of teaching foreign languages of various types (synthetic, analytical languages, etc.) by teachers of the Faculty of Foreign Languages; joint organization of events to highlight modern problematic issues in the field of secondary and higher school pedagogy, philology, translation studies; conducting School Days on the basis of the Faculty of Foreign Languages; practical training of a qualified teacher of foreign languages and foreign literature under the educational and professional program 014 Secondary education (Language and literature (Russian, English)), etc. During the discussion, the parties came to the conclusion that a future foreign language teacher should be able to solve complex non-standard professional tasks and problems of a typical and innovative nature in the field of philology, methods of teaching foreign languages and foreign literature in secondary school. Accordingly “Boris Serga Poltava Secondary School of Grades I-III No. 20” approved the proposal of the Faculty of Foreign Languages to provide a practice base for the implementation of the educational component “Educational Technologies. (Methodology of teaching foreign literature. Methodology of teaching foreign languages)”.
