Rectorate Meeting

Today Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University has conducted its regular rectorate meeting.

The agenda included the question on the state and development prospects of the Institute of History, International Relations and Socio-Political Sciences reported by L. Ts. Vakhovskyi.

Leonid Tsezarevych told about the institute staffing and students and the specifics of research activity.

According to the academic calendar, the first-year students study in stationary mode. Senior students had two two-week sessions in the first semester. Plans call for two stationary sessions in the second semester as well.

Socio-humanitarian work was quite changed due to the conditions of evacuation. The most effective education forms included remembrance evenings, museum visiting, chatting in the dormitory, watching films and so on.

The Institute participates in all career-guiding events. In addition, it has created VKontakte account and attracted school leavers from Luhansk and Donetsk regions. Upon an initiative of Directorate and the Department of Philosophy and Sociology they conducted a social research aimed at potential applicant detection and finding opportunities to affect their choice.

In addition to that, the Rectorate notes some unsolved and topical issues in the Institute’s activity.

Also the Rectorate considered organizational aspects concerning the university’s 95th anniversary celebration.
