Master class from the expert of the Prague School of Foreign Languages

A master class on innovative methods of teaching foreign languages was held at the Faculty of Foreign Languages within the framework of a faculty-wide methodical seminar for professors and teaching staff of the Faculty’s departments.
On December 13, 2022, a master class on innovative methods of teaching foreign languages was held for the teaching staff of four departments of the Faculty of Foreign Languages as a part of the all-faculty methodical seminar. The speaker of the event was Candidate of Philological sciences, Associate Professor, expert-practitioner of the Prague School of Foreign Languages (Czech Republic) Iryna S. Barbukova.
In general, the purpose of the meetings within the methodological seminar is to introduce and further critically analyze current and innovative methods of learning foreign languages of various types; exchange of theoretical and practical experience between Ukrainian specialists and invited foreign experts-practitioners; coverage of modern problematic issues in the field of higher education pedagogy, philology and translation studies; promoting the establishment and development of contacts in the field of scientific and methodological cooperation between representatives of the Faculty of Foreign Languages of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University and their colleagues – scientists and practitioners – from Ukraine and foreign countries.
During the master class, a number of technologies and methodological techniques that can be used by the teacher during foreign language learning were considered, such as: Flipped Classroom, Dogme Style, Task-Based Learning, CLIL, Embodied Learning, Inquiry-Based Learning, DME (Direct Method of English) etc. All the listed technologies and techniques have passed the stage of practical approval by the speaker during work in Czech language centers and educational institutions.
