Awarding ceremony of the “Black Wings of Trouble” competition

An awarding ceremony of the “Black Wings of Trouble” art competition was held in the city of Lubny.

In December 2022, for the fifth time as part of the children’s and youth song festival “Memory of Chornobyl”, an event will be held to commemorate the participants in the liquidation of the consequences of the accident at the Chornobyl NPP.

The founders and organizers of the festival are the Lubny city public organization of the disabled “Chornobyl Veterans”, the Charitable Foundation “Center of Social Initiatives with the support of the executive committee of the Lubny City Council and People’s Deputy of Ukraine Anastasia Liashenko. For the first time, representatives of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University took part in the preparation and holding of the competition, namely: the first Vice-Rector, the head of the Academic Council Vitalii Kurylo and the head of the Primary Trade Union Organization Volodymyr Moroz. The event was also attended by heads of Chornobyl organizations from other cities of Ukraine, namely: Anatolii Shevchenko, president of the public union “Kharkiv Association of Public Organizations of Disabled Chornobyl Veterans” and chairman of the council of the public organization of disabled people, liquidators and victims of the consequences of the accident at the Chornobyl NPP “Soyuz Chornobyl” Pokrov, Dnipropetrovsk Region – Yurii Sereda.

Before the start of the ceremony, the Lubny City Mayor Oleksandr Hrytsaenko; People’s Deputy of Ukraine Anastasia Liashenko; Academician of the National Academy of Educational Sciences of Ukraine, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor Vitalii Kurylo addressed the audience with a speech. 

After the performances, the ceremony began directly. This year, the jury included: Volodymyr Miroshnychenko, a member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine; member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine, senior lecturer of the Department of Fine and Decorative and Applied Arts of LTSNU Inna Gurzhii; Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor, Head of the Fine and Decorative Arts Department of LTSNU, Natalia Dikhtyar, members of the Lubny City Public Organization of the Disabled – Alla Smal, who herself is a participant in the liquidation of the consequences of the accident at the Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant, and Tetiana Demianchuk, who suffered as a result of the Chornobyl disaster.

Even in such a difficult time, representatives of the younger generation did not remain indifferent to the Chornobyl theme. The geography of the competition has slightly decreased this year, but the jury had a hard time, because 182 drawings were received from 179 children from 41 educational institutions, 17 settlements of Ukraine, namely: Kharkiv, Kryvyi Rih, Poltava, Pokrov (Dnipropetrovsk region), Lubny, Myrhorod, from the villages of the Lubny region (the villages of Kalaidintsiv, Voynikhy, Iskivtsiv) and other settlements of the Poltava region, namely: the town of Romodana, Orzhitsi, the villages of Pochaivka, Lazyrka, Dukhove, Kulazhentsi, Novoorihivka, Slobodo-Petrivka.
