Scientific and educational communications occupy a large place in the activities of the Department of Ukrainian and Foreign Literature at the end of 2022.
From November 21 to 27, 2022, on the initiative of the Innovation University NGO and the Office of Academic Support, the head of the Department of Ukrainian and Foreign Literature, Doctor of Philological Sciences, Professor Olha Kryzhanovska took part in the professional development program “Brand of a Scientist in the Digital World”.
The speeches of the speakers were professional and demonstrated their own experience and discoveries. The following topics were covered in the modules: “Effective communication”, “Successful presentation”, “Features of forming a personal brand in the scientific field”, “How to manage emotions, stop worrying and panicking before a speech”, “Image of a scientist in a digital society”, “Using tools of open science and scientific metric bases for popularization of own scientific results”.
The program ended with a demonstration of the participants’ own presentation: “Pitch about yourself to an investor”. More than 1,000 Ukrainian scientists took part in the “Brand of a Scientist in the Digital World” training program. At the end of the course, participants, who successfully passed all module tests and completed the tasks, received certificates.
On December 10, Olga Kryzhanovska took part in the SUMMIT of progressive educators “How to develop higher education in conditions of uncertainty” (Lviv). The organizers of the Summit are Progresylni NGOs – a community of ambitious professionals capable of progressive changes – educators, public figures and students. Partners and speakers of the educational event were the Foundation of the President of Ukraine for the Support of Education, Science and Sports, the Friedrich Ebert Foundation, the Council of Young Scientists under the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, the Office of Scientist Support, the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, the National Agency for Quality Assurance of Higher Education, Oswitoria, British Council Ukraine, Ukrainian Catholic University, News of higher education, etc.
The summit was attended by more than 400 educators who participated in offline and online formats. Scientists from Kyiv, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipro, Odesa, Ternopil, Lviv, and displaced universities of Luhansk, Berdiansk and Melitopol gathered in hospitable Lviv. The moderator of the event was Bohdan Ferens, the founder of Progresylni.
The SUMMIT program was rich and reflected the challenges facing modern education. It began with the presentation of the results of the online survey “What do teachers (not) keep silent about during the war?”, in which more than 1,000 teachers participated. The results of the survey, which highlight the assessment of the psychological state of scientists, the quality of modern education, the workload of teachers, forecasts regarding the return of students and educators, will soon be published in the mass media.
