Protocol meeting with University of Burgundy, France

On December 7, 2022 a protocol online meeting was held at the Faculty of Foreign Languages with representatives of University of Burgundy (Université de Bourgogne), France, which is among the top ten institutions of higher education of the state type in the country.
University of Burgundy was officially founded in 1722, in 2022 the institution celebrates its 200-year anniversary of its operation. The educational institution is a national and international leader in the following 6 areas of educational and research activity: ecology; modern materials and photonics; molecular technologies in the field of health; health preservation; preservation of national heritage; viticulture and winemaking.
State Institution “Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University” was represented at the meeting by Acting Dean of the Faculty of Foreign Languages, Head of the International Relations Department, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor Iryna V. Myhovych, and Vice Dean in charge of Educative Affairs, French language lecturer Liudmyla A. Ovcharova. On behalf of University of Burgundy, the meeting was attended by Head of International Affairs Office, PhD Bénédicte FORTIER, and Head of Cooperation projects, management of Erasmus+ agreements office Fabien GEORGE.
During the meeting, the main achievements and work of the two educational institutions were presented, as well as the prospects for cooperation were outlined, including student and lecturer mobility, the signing of a framework agreement on cooperation, the implementation of the dual degree program for the master’s degree program, the development of joint grant proposals for the purpose of research in the fields of Romance and Germanic philology, Ukrainian studies on certain aspects of culture and language, etc. It is worth noting that, according to the information presented during the meeting, University of Burgundy currently has 3,200 foreign students and more than 350 partner universities from around the world, but no Ukrainian higher education institution with which a framework cooperation agreement has been concluded. SI “Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University” expresses its respect, gratitude, and pride for the beginning of cooperation between our two universities.
