Teachers of the Institute of Culture and Arts have published new study guides.
The first research and methodology edition is by the Doctor of Arts, Professor Andrii Stashevskyi – “Musical and Instrumental Expressive Means in Accordion Art”. The guide covers a system of musical and instrumental expressive means in accordion art. It explains essential and structural characteristics of musical expressive means as a music studies category, presents accordion’s features and tone properties as a base of its artistic and expressive resources, defines peculiarities and application examples of artistic use of specific instrumental methods and acoustic effects in accordion art.
The other study guide is “Positional and Multiple-Row Fingering in Accordion Performance: Theory and Practice” by the Candidate of Arts, Associated Professor Iryna Yashchenko. The guide develops and substantiates a method of positional and multiple-row fingering as the most advanced type of modern accordion fingering and suggests its mastering principles. It defines anatomical and physiological conditions to adapt accordion to the structures of its multiple-row fingerboard and main principles to choose the best fingering.
