An Austrian stakeholder supported the mathematicians of LTSNU

During the accreditation of educational and professional programs of the second (master’s) level of higher education in mathematics majors, a leading Austrian scientist delivered a report as a stakeholder.

From November 7 to 11, 2022, the Educational and Research Institute of Physics, Mathematics and Information Technologies hosted online visits of expert groups on accreditation of the educational and professional program “Mathematics” of the second (master’s) level of higher education in the specialty 014.04 “Secondary Education (Mathematics)” and of the educational and professional program “Algebra and Number Theory” of the second (master’s) level of higher education, specialty 111 “Mathematics”.

The report of Erhard Aichinger, Deputy Director of the Institute of Algebra at the Johannes Kepler University in Linz, Austria, PhD in mathematics, Associate Professor, was included in the two online programs of expert groups during the accreditation examination. The translator at the event was Oksana Husakova, a teacher of the Department of Foreign Languages by Profession.

During the meeting with employers, Erhard Aichinger said that the Johannes Kepler University in Linz has master’s and postgraduate degrees in mathematics. He talked about the content of the mathematics program for master’s students, analyzed the number of exams in compulsory and optional subjects, provided information about the scientific mathematics schools of the Austrian Higher Education Institutions, and also provided recommendations on improving the educational and professional programs of the second (master’s) level of higher education in mathematical specialties of our university. The scientist informed that after completing the master’s degree, graduates of mathematical specialties of our university can consider the issue of further study in the postgraduate course in mathematics at the Johannes Kepler University in Linz. To do this, it is necessary to contact the professor of the scientific field in which the master’s student is interested. Erhard Aichinger invited the master’s students of our university to study at the postgraduate school of the Johannes Kepler University in Linz.

We thank Erhard Aichinger for supporting our university in a difficult time for Ukraine and hope for further fruitful cooperation with Austrian mathematicians.
