9.11.2022
The Ukrainian Language Department held a series of events dedicated to the Day of Ukrainian Writing and Language.
The Department of the Ukrainian Language once again this year joined the celebration of the Day of Ukrainian Writing and Language, holding a series of events the day before:
1) marathon contest “Ukrainian Language Week”;
2) XV All-Ukrainian Scientific and Practical Conference “Slobozhanska Beseda-15”;
3) writing the Radio Dictation of All-Ukrainian Unity – 2022.
So, on October 24, the Department organized a meeting with the students of the FUPJ and announced a marathon competition for writing the best article about a linguist, the best work about the beauty and possibilities of the Ukrainian language, the best poem about the Ukrainian language; inviting the university community to join the thematic marathon “Ukrainian Language Week”, which lasted until November 5.
Karyna Shevchenko, a first-year student (specialty “Secondary Education. Ukrainian Language and Literature”), was unanimously chosen as the winner of the marathon contest for writing the poem “Ukraine and the Native Language”.
On November 8, on the eve of the Day of Ukrainian Writing and Language, the members of the Department organized and held at the university the 15th All-Ukrainian Scientific and Practical Conference “Slobozhanska Beseda – 15”, the leader and inspiration of which is Professor, Doctor of Philological Sciences – Kateryna Glukhovtseva, for the 15th year in a row, which managed to gather connoisseurs of the Ukrainian word from all over the country and near abroad in such a difficult time.
The conference brought together 140 researchers, including 65 students and masters, 69 teachers, including doctors of science, 14 professors and 6 teachers. These are employees and students of education from Kyiv, Lviv, Dnipro, Zhytomyr, Odesa, Uman, Cherkasy, Kharkiv, Poltava and other cities.
On November 9, the philologists, teaching and student staff of the Faculty of Ukrainian Philology and Journalism, our entire scientific community joined in writing the Radio Dictation of National Unity – 2022. The author of this year’s text is a Ukrainian writer and director – Iryna Tsylyk, and the text of the dictation was read by People’s Artist of Ukraine – Ada Rogovtseva. The purpose of the Radio Dictation is not to check the literacy of the participants of the all-Ukrainian flash mob, but rather to unite people around Ukraine all over the world – whoever, no matter where they are, joins in writing a dictation in support of Ukraine. “I make mistakes, and everyone makes mistakes, but writing Radio Dictation is more about the process than the result. We all continue to learn, we move forward. To me, it’s more about the act of unity than about writing everything without a single mistake,” shared Iryna Tsylyk.
The language front is guarding our country! Let us remember that the Ukrainian language is the main identifying feature of our nation.
Happy Ukrainian Writing and Language Day, dear Ukrainians!
Happy holiday, Ukraine!
