Participation in the International Training

Acting Dean of the Faculty of Foreign Languages took part in the How To Be Successful in Grant Writing training from the Polish Academy of Sciences Representative Office in Kyiv.

Acting Dean of the Faculty of Foreign Languages, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor, Iryna Myhovych took part in the international online intensive How To Be Successful in Grant Writing from the Polish Academy of Sciences Representative Office, whose activities have recently been carried out on the territory of the Republic of Poland.

The purpose of the training was to develop the knowledge of international grant opportunities available to Ukrainian researchers in Europe (especially in Poland); various methods of finding partners or hosting institutions were presented; information about current topics and contests was provided; practical work was carried out on the development of skills in writing a successful scientific proposal. Attention was paid to the adequate and effective construction of the project, the correct writing of the main constituent parts of the grant proposal. In addition, the basic structure of the international grant budget was considered.

Trainers and moderators of the event were: 1) Joanna Mucha, Ph.D., researcher of the Polish Academy of Sciences, evaluation expert of NCN, DAAD Research Fellowship winner (Helmholtz Zentrum Munich, Institute of Biochemical Plant Pathology), author of more than 30 expert reviews for foreign scientific journals; 2) Justyna Malkuch-Switalska, who in 2016 established the School of Academic Trainers in Kraków (Poland) to help researchers use training methods in and outside the Academy; expert of the European Commission on the analysis of the development of doctoral programmes and the evolution of scientific careers in the European Union.

The training was the next in a series of online events for scientists of Ukraine. The following are scheduled (online registration is open): 1) 09-10.11.2022 – Soft Skills for Researchers – self-motivation and dealing with stress; 2) 28.11.2022 – Science and Business Collaboration – legal solutions in Poland and EU.
