Kharkiv Sociological Readings

On November 3-4, “Kharkiv Sociological Readings” dedicated to the memory of Olena Oleksandrivna Yakuba took place.

“Kharkiv Sociological Readings” were dedicated to the memory of the founder of the Kharkiv School of Sociology, the founder of national sociological science and education, Professor Olena Oleksandrivna Yakuba. The life and scientific creed of Olena Yakuba is the struggle for the defense of the truth, for the realization of the main task of sociology – the study of real social processes in order to improve the life of society. Olena Yakuba’s scientific and ethical imperatives are of particular importance in the conditions of modern Ukraine, its struggle against Russian aggressors. These imperatives became the cornerstone of the theme of this year’s “Kharkiv Sociological Readings”: “Sociology at War: Mission and Social Responsibility of Science.”

Ilia Kononov, Yuliia Nuzhna, Kateryna Kotelenets and Svitlana Khobta took part in sociological readings and made topical reports.

The repost “The Russian-Ukrainian war: a sociological view of 2022 in the global context” was made by Ilia Kononov.

Yuliia Nuzhna, Kateryna Kotelenets and Svitlana Khobta gave a collective report “The war in Ukraine in the public opinion of the countries of the world”.
